Greenery galore in Basin’s Backyard Garden

Today a crew went out into the garden to focus on damage control.

The cucumbers, beans and peas are in prime “ignore-us-and-you’ll-regret-it” growing season. So gardeners searched out and plucked those three crops, plus some eggplant and one purple kohlrabi. In total, 39 pounds were harvested and delivered to the Abused Adult Resource Center. Jess May at the front desk says the women love getting fresh veggies and can always find new ways to cook them or nosh on them raw.

The eggplant, had we had a county fair to enter, we believe could be award-winning.
