Watering by jugs in between rainfalls

Basin’s Backyard Garden was blessed to have several days of rain following planting day May 26. Normally, we don’t depend so much on the rain because we have a sprinkler system set on our own zone.

This year, with construction and landscaping, we knew the sprinkler system wouldn’t be in place by the time we needed to plant. The rain kept us in the green for a good week.

But on June 3, after a few rainless days, we decided we’d better water the plants to keep them healthy. Gallon jugs and strong arms brought the plants a nice drink. Plus, we’re happy to see a bunch of little sprouts are coming up from the seeds!

Upon a close look, we’re not sure if these are carrots or something else. Stay tuned!
