Basin’s Backyard Garden makes first donation

Sheila Renner, administrative assistant II and garden volunteer, took the first donation from Basin’s Backyard Garden to share with Heaven’s Helpers Soup Café.

Renner gathered two bags full of lettuce from the garden and brought them to the soup kitchen over the lunch hour yesterday. The volunteers were grateful for the donation and said the lettuce would be used that evening for dinner to make tacos.

Heaven’s Helpers is one of ten Hunger Free ND Garden Project drop off sites in Bismarck and Mandan, ND. Learn how to donate to the drop off sites and to find out more about the Hunger Free ND Garden Project: Hunger Free North Dakota Garden Project drop off sites

We look forward to the many more opportunities to give back to our community as we get into harvesting season!
